This was a great event last year with numerous members from the southern part of the state and our Patroon Chapter gathering to have their cars put on the lift and gone through by a Technician. The tech will talk to you and consult with you and provide you with a tech inspections report on what looks good and what may need some work, all for $40.00. While this is going on, you will be able to talk with George and Peter Ohlweiler, the owners of RMC as well as their staff, check out the cars on their lot, mix it up with some other club members and enjoy a BYOBB BBQ (Bring Your Own Burgers and Beer.) Dave Huffman will be leading this event so if you plan on attending this event please RSVP to him at dhuffman@gmail.com.

May 26th we will have a Tech Inspection and BBQ at Ralph’s Foreign Auto in Colchester starting @ 9:00am. They will get your car up on the lift do a full tech inspection and give you a report of their findings for $40.00. You will also get to and talk with Ralph Humburg the owner and his staff, hang out with other club members and enjoy a BYOBB BBQ (Bring Your Own Burgers and Beer.) This event will led by John Holzscheiter, if you plan on attending please RSVP to him at jholzscheiter@anderinger.com.
June
June 9, for all our Non-Formula One fans, our NY neighbors the Patroon Chapter have been having a Show and Shine concours event the last few year and this year we plan on joining them. Ron Crawford will lead this event below is what he has planned for this event.
The Patroon Show and Shine has turned into a full day car event, with speakers, a tech session, an open house at Keeler’s facility, a BMW show with classes from hard core concours to most scrofulous example. In addition Keeler also hosts the Honda enthusiasts and lays on a nice cookout. That alone is worth the price of admission. That’s the Import Tuner/drifting/rice rocket crowd, and their energy and creativity are infectious. There is often a special show or presentation at the Saratoga Auto Museum. The last was a dozen or so gorgeous Bugattis.
Let’s congregate at 8:30 AM at the Arches d’Or (Golden Arches) restaurant at the south end of Whitehall and run in scenic drive convoy from there. If you miss the rendezvous meet us at Keelers. See Mapquest.com for directions. You will be exiting west off the Northway and looking for Keeler on the right a couple of miles in.
By the end of the day we will all be hungry for some German food. We will stop at Gentlemen’s Rest in Mendon, which is on the way for anyone heading north or south on Route 7 or continuing east on Route 4. They have by far the best German food we have had in Vermont, a great beer list, and enough Gastwirstschaftlichkeit to end our expedition of a high note. If you plan on attending this event please RSVP with Ron Crawford 802.877.3542 or ron.crawford@adelphia.net for details and dinner reservation.
Don’t forget to set your TIVO or Significant Other to record Saturday practice for the Grand Prix or Canada.
June 8-10 is the Canadian Gran Prix in Montreal.
June 23-24 Car Show. This event has been held the past 10 years or so at the Shelburne Museum. This year the event will be held in St. Albans, Vermont at the Collins Perley Sports Center just off exit 19 on I89. This is a two day event and we would really like to see our members come forth with some of those really special BMW’s we know that are out there. We know some of you own some really nice pre-70’s cars and that there are numerous 2002’s, coupes, Bavaria’s, as well as new and old 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Z, X and M- series cars out there. So, get them shined up an bring them to the show! If you plan on attending this event please RSVP to John Holzscheiter at jholzscheiter@anderinger.com.
