DINAN was a lead sponsor at OktoberFAST 2009 in Stowe and Rutland Motorcars brought out two MINI Cooper S R53’s to the event. The white R53 pictured here is fitted with a DINAN 2 kit.
OktoberFAST 2009 was a success!

Despite the blustery October Vermont weather, the turnout was great. My drive over the Notch early in the morning was dampened by the typical heavy clouds and fog. Safe driving is always best and eventhough the speeds were well under the limit the supercharger and intercooler on my MINI Cooper S R53 loved the cool dense air.
Several trailered BMWs arrived including the appropriate fall colored orange 1972 2002 / M2 shown below and a little red 1958 Isetta. During the morning some more BMWs arrived, some M3s, an M6, M5s and several very well represented rides from the our neighborly northern Provence of Quebec, CN including a very trick new M3. A lone white pristine euro spec 1981 Volkswagen Golf GTI was nestled in between the Porsches and Audis. The Audi quattro drivers showed up a tad late, they must have been out enjoying the drive on the rainy slick roads.
Gene Schubert from the Land Rover Experience at the Equinox in Manchester, VT set up a blindfolded driving course and a few brave souls tackled the cones, wet grass and leaves with little confusion. The BMWs and MINI didn’t know any difference.
Eventually, the weather started to cooperate and the sun popped its little rays out on us in the afternoon warming up enough to take off my jacket. This was perfect for a much needed break. I made it over to the Craft Fair food vendors and joined my wife and daughter for a bite to eat.
